In-depth:

*This apparatus is the scholarly back matter of the standard work. It is compilation and distillation work from the already verified dossiers 05A–20; it introduces no new research and no new claims. Where a count or reference has been taken over from a dossier without a machine recount of its own, this is indicated in the status column or with a mark. The four marks — well documented · weighed · contested · speculative — are used here as ordinary words.*

1. MASTER CONCORDANCE

Head-note. The counts rest on the ground text (WLC/OSHB for the Hebrew, Scrivener TR for the Greek); where TR and critical text differ, that is indicated. The status column distinguishes machine-verified counts from those still to be verified. `verified` = confirmed by HV or in the assignment; `calculated / from dossier` = machine count in a dossier (05A–20), taken over here, not yet independently recounted; `to be verified` = reference or memory, to be checked by machine.

Textual-critical annotations (gate 11), all four checked against the critical text (Nestle/Westcott-Hort) and confirmed: 12:12 — TR τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν ("woe to the dwellers of [...]"), critical text without the participle ("οὐαὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ τὴν θάλασσαν"); 13:6 — TR a third καί before "those who tabernacle in heaven" (three objects of the blasphemy), critical text omits that καί → "those who tabernacle" becomes an apposition to "his tent"; 14:1 — TR only "the Name of His Father", critical text "his Name and the Name of His Father"; 17:8 — TR καίπερ ἔστιν ("and yet he is"), critical text καὶ παρέσται ("and he shall come"). The book follows the TR. For the full ECM apparatus (which manuscripts carry which reading) the printed NA28/ECM remains the final authority. NB: dossier 19 counts στέφανος erroneously as 31×; the correct count is 18× NT / 8× Rev (above, verified).

2. THE ACTANT MAP

From dossiers 16B (Part 2) and 11. Revelation 11–14 sets six companies on God's side over against three counterfeiters and one sounding-board class. The six modes in a single line: witnessing · kept · snatched away · persecuted · sealed · tabernacling.

(a) The six actant groups (Revelation 11–14)

3the child / the male sonborn, iron rod, snatched away to the thronesnatched away (ἁρπάζω)Rev 12:5— (image: Ps 2:9; Isa 66:7)
4the rest of her seedwho keep the commandments and have the testimony; persecuted, overcomepersecuted (witnessing)Rev 12:17; 13:7; 14:12Dan 7:21 (verbatim in 13:7); 7:25; 12:7

6the heaven-dwellers (οἱ σκηνοῦντες)tabernacling in heaven; untouchable, only blasphemedtabernaclingRev 12:12; 13:6 (7:15; 21:3)— (the counter-class of the earth-dwellers)

*Delimitations (gate 11): woman ↔ rest of her seed = kept/persecuted, two modes of the same Daniel period (dossier 11 B2). 144,000 = the counted inner body of the seed; group 4 = the seed as a whole minus the figures already named (part-whole, not identity). Child ↔ 144,000 = taking-away/sealing. Row 3 ↔ row 6 = taking-away/arrival (one movement; νικάω in the aorist 12:11, σκηνόω 12:12). The two most softly founded boundaries — the witnesses ↔ the seed (corporate) and the 144,000 ↔ the great multitude (7:9) — remain contested. The identification heaven-dwellers = the taken-away Bride is weighed/model-dependent (HV's Pre-Abomination model).*

(b) The counterfeiters (the imitation system)

counterfeiterreferencemimicscontrast-axis
the dragonRev 12:3-4,7-17; 13:2,4; 20:2the Father (passes on power and throne, 13:2); drags the third part of the stars (← Dan 8:10)authority as gift ↔ authority as robbery
the beast out of the seaRev 11:7; 13:1-10the Lamb (pseudo-resurrection wound 13:3; "was, and is not, and shall come up" 17:8 ↔ "who was and is and comes")resurrection ↔ healed death-wound
the beast out of the earth / the false prophetRev 13:11-18; 16:13; 19:20; 20:10the maskil (lamb-form, dragon-voice, signs, worldwide teaching unto worship)to make understand ↔ to make stray (πλανάω 8/8)
the whore BabylonRev 17-18the woman and the bride (mother-title, wilderness, adornment with what the bride is; self-made name ← Gen 11:4)being-named ↔ self-naming; kept through ↔ laid waste within

Legend — the imitation system. The opposing party works as parody: over against virtually every positive figure stands exactly one forgery, each time with a nameable contrast-axis. The mark (χάραγμα) offers what the seal offers — survival — but shifts the threat (God's seal protects against God's plagues, 9:4; the mark against the economic ban of the beast itself, 13:17). The strongest counter-image is the tefillin axis: Israel binds God's words "as a sign on your hand" and between the eyes (Deut 6:8; LXX ἐπὶ τῆς χειρός; cf. Ex 13:9, 16; Deut 11:18), the Pharisees broaden their phylacteries (Matt 23:5), and Isaiah 44:5 knows one who writes on his hand: "the LORD's". Hand and forehead were already the place of faithfulness to God; the mark occupies the same place. Three times it strikes back talionically: smooth words → smooth way; carried by the beast → eaten by the beast; the vehicle becomes the verdict. The two witnesses too have their mirror-pair in the two beasts (same period, same fire, same death-and-revival, same worldwide audience). Mark: weighed — a dominant pattern, no mathematically conclusive proof of composition (the great multitude and the child have no antitype of their own). The earth-dwellers (οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς) are not an actant but the sounding-board on which the deception works.

Consistency (dossier 18): the cult-types (A-D) converge on the sealed, counted body (group 5); the word-types (H) on the witnessing figures (groups 1 and 4); the mother-/keeping-types (G) on the woman (group 2). The typology sorts itself cleanly along the actant boundaries — a structural argument, not a count.

(a) The Daniel allusions in Revelation

Fifteen certain allusions, with the nature of the borrowing and (where determinable) the Greek version followed. Source: Scrivener TR (Revelation); OG and θ′ (Theodotion) of Daniel, compared primarily. The net pattern leans toward Theodotion, but Revelation follows no version mechanically; the dominant mechanism is re-translation and inversion.

(b) The reception of Daniel 12:3 ("those who justify many [...] like the stars")

The tradition bifurcates: a democratizing stream (the shining-image for all the righteous) and a narrow/functional stream (maskil = a delimited teacher-/office-class). Only what was primarily seen in dossier 12 stands here. Core finding: not a single witness — broad or narrow — reads the maskilim as a counted body after the type of the 144,000; the census is absent from the whole maskil reception.

streamtextual witnesswhat is picked upsubject of "shining"
democratizingMatthew 13:43"the righteous shall shine like the sun" — ἐκλάμψουσιν = exactly θ′ Dan 12:3, but the subject broadened from "the wise" to "the righteous"all the righteous
democratizingWisdom 3:7 (+ 3:6,8,9)ἀναλάμπω + refining (gold in the smelting-furnace) + judging peoples + συνίημι — the maskil cluster, broadly on the righteousall the righteous (image: sparks, not stars — weighed/contested as a direct Dan 12:3 allusion)
democratizing1 Enoch 104:2,6"you shall shine like the lights of heaven"; but 104:12-13 preserves the teacher→pupil structure (the wise receive the books; the righteous learn from them)all the righteous, with a teacher-core
democratizing4 Ezra 7:97,125the face "like the sun / like the stars" for the law-keeping righteous (astral image, closest to Dan 12:3)all the righteous (ground text not primary — SECONDARY)
narrow/functionalDaniel himself (11:33; 12:3)the maskilim alongside and over against "the many" (רַבִּים) whom they teach — an internal distinctiona delimited entity
narrow/functionalQumran (dossier 06; 4Q174)the maskil as a defined office (instructor/discerner); Dan 11:32–12:10 as the script of the refining-timean office
narrow/functionalSirach 38:24-39:11the scribe/sofer (γραμματεύς) as a separate scholarly class; διανοέομαι = the OG maskil-verba teacher-/judge-class
narrow/functionalb. Bava Batra 8bDan 12:3 spread over offices: judge (dayyan), charity-collector (gabbai tzedaka), children's teacher (melamed tinokot)specific offices (not "all the righteous")
narrow/functionalb. Sanhedrin 92aon the resurrection (Dan 12:2,13); the sarid = talmid chacham (Torah scholar)the scholarly class

Absences (gate 1): there exists no Targum on Daniel (itself partly Aramaic); Sifre/Midrash Tehillim on Dan 12:3 were not located in the sweep. The decisive rabbinic locus is and remains Bava Batra 8b.

5. GLOSSARY

Alphabetical. Kept factual; where a term is HV's model-dependent position, that is noted with it.

the 144,000 — The tribe-by-tribe counted, forehead-sealed body (Rev 7:1-8; 14:1-5), Judah first; on Zion with the Lamb, with the new song that only they may learn (14:3), redeemed as firstfruits (ἀπαρχή, 14:4). Actant group 5, mode sealed. Distinguished from the innumerable great multitude (7:9); their equation with the maskilim is contested (see maskilim).

Antiochus horizon / model event — The near, historically strongly founded fulfillment of Daniel 11:21-35 in the crisis under Antiochus IV Epiphanes (175-164 BC): the desecration of the temple, the forced apostasy, the faithful ones (Hasidim) who teach and fall. HV's position: this is a model event, a scale model that sketches the end time — the type whose antitype is still future (futurized by Jesus himself, Matt 24:15). The maskilim are thus a recurring function across two horizons, not a one-time group.

Bride — See heaven-dwellers and Pre-Abomination model. In HV's model the taken-away church, qualified in the church age (the thlipsis + the overcomer-career of Rev 2-3), already tabernacling before the throne when the crucible begins. The identification with the heaven-dwellers (group 6) is weighed/model-dependent.

threshold stone — A compositional device, not an exegetical term: at the end of each part a half-page in the second person ("For whoever reads this in those days"), typographically set apart. Together with the prologue and the epilogue the threshold stones form the germ cells of the entrusted sister-book.

tabernacling / σκηνόω (skènoō) — "To dwell in a tent"; NT-exclusively Johannine (John 1:14; Rev 7:15; 12:12; 13:6; 21:3) and exclusively God's-tent language. The mode of actant group 6 (the heaven-dwellers): untouchable, only to be blasphemed (13:6), over against the earth-dwellers who "dwell" (κατοικέω).

Cross→Crown — The canon-wide pattern suffering/endurance → glory/reward, joined by a conditional hinge (Rom 8:17; 2 Tim 2:12; Jas 1:12; 1 Pet 5:4; Rev 2:10). The migrated heart of The Final Settlement, but in this book reframed as a law of the Kingdom that applies to each of the six actant groups in its own mode — not one ordeal (the year-week), but six simultaneous trajectories. HV's reframing.

maskil / maskilim (מַשְׂכִּיל / מַשְׂכִּילִים) — "The wise one(s)"; in Daniel the one who has insight and makes the many understand, falls in order to be refined, and justifies the many (11:33,35; 12:3,10). In the Second-Temple and rabbinic reception unanimously a function/office (Qumran instructor, Sirach sofer, judge/teacher), nowhere a counted body. HV's model places the maskilim as the teaching, witnessing vanguard of the persecuted circle; their strict equation with the 144,000 remains contested (the census is absent from the maskil reception).

the marks (the four marks) — The project's fixed qualification scale: well documented (the textual datum is fixed; not necessarily the interpretation) · weighed (plausible, with a named weakness) · contested (a serious counter-reading, undecided) · speculative (possible, but without a load-bearing measurement). Counts are separately called calculated (by machine) or to be verified.

mark / χάραγμα (charagma) — The mark of the beast on forehead or right hand (Rev 13:16-17; 14:9,11; etc.; 7× in Rev, critical text; 15:2 only in the TR), which makes buying and selling possible. The only other NT place: Acts 17:29 (idol image). Counter-sealing: it parodies the seal, but marks whoever bows to the abomination, where Ezek 9 marks whoever sighs over the abomination.

the counterfeiters / the imitation system — The opposing party as parody: dragon (anti-Father), beast out of the sea (anti-Lamb), false prophet (anti-maskil), whore Babylon (counter-woman/counter-bride). Over against virtually every positive figure stands one forgery with a nameable contrast-axis; three times the imitation strikes back talionically. Mark: weighed (dominant pattern, no conclusive proof of composition).

Pre-Abomination model — HV's eschatological framework: the Bride is taken away at the seam of the sixth seal — after the birth pangs of the first half, before the wrath and before the abomination; she shares the thlipsis, never the orgē. The 144,000 are sealed at that same seam. All Israel comes home along three ways: the remnant in the Bride, the harvest under the maskilim, the woman as millennium-people. Model-dependent position of HV.

thlipsis (θλῖψις, "tribulation") over against orgē (ὀργή, "wrath") — The sharp separation of HV's model: the thlipsis is the cruciform life and the persecution that the believer through all the ages shares with the Bridegroom (John 16:33; Acts 14:22); the orgē is God's wrath of the year-week, which the Bride never shares ("that would be to say that the cup of the Bridegroom was not enough"). Model-dependent.

the telescope reading — The typological reading (this book, chapter 1) in which Daniel 11 is fulfilled in Antiochus and prefigures the end time; the seam at 11:35-36 is not a switch but a telescope that zooms in from the type to the antitype. Signal in the text itself: "until the time of the end" (עַד עֵת קֵץ) in 11:35.

sealing / σφραγίς (sfragis) — The seal of the living God on the forehead (Rev 7:2-3; 9:4), which keeps through the judgment. Lexically anchored in Ex 28 LXX (the seal engraving of the tribe names, σφραγῖδος, 6/6) combined with the forehead (μέτωπον) from Ezek 9. One of the strongest type-bridges of the preliminary study — in terms of the substantiation of the bridge (both substantial and lexical); the application to the 144,000 remains "weighed".

the four marks — See the marks.

to snatch away / ἁρπάζω (harpazō) — The snatching away of the child to God and his throne (Rev 12:5, the only occurrence in Rev); the same verb as 1 Thess 4:17 ("the rapture"). The mode of actant group 3, distinguished from the sealing in place of the 144,000.

victor's crown (στέφανος) over against ruler's band (διάδημα) — Two crowns. The στέφανος is the victor's crown, the reward after endurance (8× in Rev, 18× NT); the διάδημα is the ruler's band, the power-claim (3× NT, all in Rev: 12:3; 13:1; 19:12 — dragon, beast, and the Word of God). The saints receive the victor's crown; the ruler's band is the stake of the struggle.

the six modes — The six distinct answers of God to one time of tribulation, borne by the six actant groups: witnessing (two witnesses) · kept (woman) · snatched away (child) · persecuted (rest of her seed) · sealed (144,000) · tabernacling (heaven-dwellers).

6. HOUSE OF BOOKS — the oeuvre

This is a preliminary positioning that HV will complete; where an exact title is uncertain, it reads "[to be completed by HV]".

The Wise — the vanguard in the crucible is the unsealing standard work: it lays bare who the people in the crucible are, with the full ground-text substantiation of this apparatus. It comes before the entrusted sister-book — the warm, second-person For Whoever Reads This in Those Days, whose threshold stones, prologue and epilogue already supply the germ cells. That order follows the Daniel 12:9 model: first the word is unsealed and understood, then it is entrusted to whoever reads it in those days.

worksubjectrelation to this book
The Final Settlement — The Cross as Condition for the Crown (HV, Dec. 2025)the qualification-motif Cross→Crown in the end timethe predecessor; this book inherits the Cross→Crown heart but shifts it from "the Bride as protagonist of the year-week" to "the maskilim/144,000 as protagonists"
Position Statement — The Pre-Abomination Model (HV)HV's eschatological position (taking-away at the seam of the sixth seal; three ways home)the framework that this book cites (gate 3); this book provides the sharpening of §17 (the equation maskilim = harvest marked and reframed)
The Architect's Sealthe book of Daniel — structure, chronology, the year-weeks (1260/1290/1335)this book does not treat the book of Daniel but this people in Daniel; it leans on the chronology laid down there without repeating it
The Master Clock of Revelationthe book of Revelation — structure, cycles, timeline (among others the abomination around the middle of the year-week)this book does not treat the structure but this people in Revelation; structural questions are settled there
The Woman in the Wilderness (sister-book)Revelation 12: the woman, the wilderness, the dragonshares Rev 12:17; the woman and her keeping there, "the rest of her seed" and their struggle here — the books cross-refer to each other
For Whoever Reads This in Those Days (announced sister-book)the pastoral, second-person book for the special reader in the end timethe entrusted book that comes after this standard work (Daniel 12:9 model); grows out of the threshold stones, prologue and epilogue of this book
