About This Book
This is the first volume in the series The Seven Mysteries.
Two mysteries run through this book, and Scripture calls them both a mystèrion. There is the mystery of Christ — God's plan to gather all things under one Head in His Son (Ephesians 1:9–10). And there is the mystery of the Bride: "This mystery is great," Paul writes of husband and wife, "I speak concerning Christ and the church" (Ephesians 5:32). A King and a Bride, a crown and a wedding — toward this the book moves from its first page to its last.
Two tracks run through the book. The main text reads as one continuous story and can be followed by anyone. The indented In Depth boxes dig deeper — into the original language, the typology, and the honest weighing — for those who want to go further. You can skip them without losing the thread, or you can linger in them.
The second volume, The Mystery of Lawlessness and Babylon, is the dark mirror of this book: there the ancient serpent grasps for that same crown, and counterfeits that same Bride.
