The chain in one image

chain plate

In-depth:

The plate sets the five dates of this book on one line, in the order in which it weighs them: from the decree to the terminus. Each node carries its label and the place where the oeuvre substantiates it; each connection carries its length. Solid lines are sums that can be recomputed, dotted lines are interpretations.

458 BC · Tishri 457. The decree to Ezra in the seventh year of Artaxerxes is DOCUMENTED; that the count opens at the sabbatical boundary Tishri 457 holds on the chain of Zuckermann and is INTERPRETED. Chapter 3, "The decree".

27. 483 ordinary solar years further on, without year 0: the anointing, the baptism. CALCULATED, on the premises of chapter 3 (year-weeks; Ezra 7 as the command meant). Casus 31 reaches the same year along Luke 3:1 and the temple, on an interpreted way of counting.

31. Three and a half years later, four Passovers: the cross. The link is INTERPRETED, for the fourth spring is support and not compulsion. The year itself comes from outside: Casus 31 measures it by the sign and by the calendar and calls it a weighed surmise. The previous plate drew the day axis, the sign and the Wednesday, as this book's own result; that inquiry now stands in Casus 31, and the plate therefore draws the anchor as supplied, not as derived. Chapter 1, "The anchor".

3967 BC. The epoch stands not on the year 31 but on the ledger: the temple in 966 BC and four entries, three firm and one carried. CALCULATED, with a ±. The line from 31 is dotted and carries no length: the cross stands on the dial, the dial does not stand on the cross. Chapter 4, "The missing years".

2034. 6000 years after the epoch, 120 times 50. INTERPRETED, fourfold stacked, with the falsifier of chapter 5, "The hundred and twentieth Jubilee".

Two nodes are gold: 457 and 31, "the two golden pins". The lines to the dial run away from them, never towards them.
