The Closing Seven Years

25 min readthe ArchitectGoelmaster clock

In the afternoon of the second of August 2027 the sun went out over Mecca.

The city lay in the heat of summer. Around half past twelve the sun stood at its highest point, less than four degrees from the zenith, and the colonnades around the court of the Kaaba cast almost no shadow. Around the black cube in the middle the pilgrims walked their circuit. To this one point Islam turns five times a day in prayer (Quran 2:144); from Morocco to Indonesia every prayer niche points here.

At 12:02 local time the moon touched the edge of the disc. For more than 80 minutes it slid onward, until the sun was a thin crescent. The light grew flat and grey, a strange twilight that no one who has not seen a total eclipse can quite picture. The heat gave way. At 13:24 the sun went black and the corona — the white halo that surrounds the disc only when the moon is in front of it — appeared high in the sky like a wedding ring of fire.

For five minutes and six seconds the city lay in the darkness of midday. The path of totality came from the west: 22 minutes earlier it had darkened Luxor on the Nile; then it crossed the Red Sea and passed over Mecca, 56 kilometres inside the edge of the band. Jerusalem lay 549 kilometres outside that edge and saw only a partial eclipse. The shadow fell not on the city of the great King, but on the place toward which the prayer of Islam turns. (Times and duration for Mecca are CALCULATED with the ephemeris DE421: the times to about a minute, the duration to about 10 seconds.) And the date the eclipse fell on the calendar — the second of August 2027 — was, by the master clock, the year the seventieth week of Daniel was scheduled to open its physical course.

The chapter ahead is about that seven-year window. About what Our Father has been counting toward, what the calendar specifies, what the prophet Daniel handed to Gabriel and Gabriel handed back to John, and how every clause of Daniel 9:27 — held in reserve for two thousand years — lands in the closing seven years from the autumn of 2027 to the autumn of 2034.

This is no longer history. What follows is, by the projection of the dial, a program already underway.

The chiastic mirror

Chapter seven walked through the master contract of four hundred and ninety years. There the seventy weeks of Daniel stood divided into seven, plus sixty-two, plus one. There the first sixty-nine weeks ran from 457 BC to autumn 27 AD and ended at the Jordan, where the dove descended and Yeshua stepped out of the water. There the seven-year juridical blueprint opened the same afternoon. There the earthly ministry of the Goel ran for three and a half years from the autumn of 27 to the spring of 31, ending at the cross — fulfilling Daniel 9:26's announcement that Messiah would be cut off after the sixty-two weeks. There the apostolic ratification ran for three and a half years from the resurrection to the formal rejection by the leadership of Israel at the stoning of Stephen in the autumn of 34. There it became clear that the four-hundred-and-ninety-year window — thy people and thy holy city — closed on the season Gabriel had laid down 571 years earlier.

That was the juridical register. The legal title transferred at the cross. The covenant was cut, in the literal Hebrew sense of karat (Daniel 9:26). The witnesses of the Spirit ratified the deed across the second half-week. The four-hundred-and-ninety-year appointment to Israel as a national entity closed at Stephen. From the standpoint of the heavenly court, the central juridical act of the seventieth week — the cutting off of the Goel — was done.

What had not happened, on the surface of the earth, was the physical execution of the events Daniel placed in 9:27 — the making strong, by overwhelming power, of a counterfeit covenant for the many, the physical halting of zevach u-minchah in the midst of the week, the abomination of desolation on a wing, the consummation poured out upon the desolator. Those events belong to the second Nagid of 9:26b, the Coming Prince whose people destroyed the city, whose career verse 27 then unfolds. They had not stood in the lifetime of the apostles. They have not stood in the centuries between. They are reserved for the seven years that close the master clock. (The forensic case for the two distinct Nagids and the lexical impossibility of reading 9:27 as the cross is laid out in Appendix E.)

Now the dial is closing. And the closing seven years, by every line of arithmetic the Architect has written into the master clock, mirror the juridical seven years across the bridge of two thousand years.

Look at the geometry.

The juridical blueprint ran from autumn 27 AD to autumn 34 AD. Its three landmarks fell on 27, 31, and 34 AD: the Anointing at the Jordan, the cross, the formal close at Stephen.

Run the same arithmetic forward across the long bridge of two thousand years. If the physical seventieth week mirrors the juridical blueprint with the precision Our Father has used in every other architectural pattern of the master clock, the three landmarks of the physical week ought to land exactly two thousand years after each landmark of the juridical blueprint. And they do.

Juridical blueprint (legal title transferred by the Goel)YearPhysical seventieth week (physical execution against the imitator)Year

Stephen; window of appointment to Israel closesAutumn AD 34Master clock closes; the Goel returns, on day 1335 at the latest; the imitator destroyedAutumn 2034

Two thousand years between each pair. The addition is trivial — 27 + 2000 = 2027; 31 + 2000 = 2031; 34 + 2000 = 2034 — and precisely for that reason it must be said what it is and what it is not. That the three landmarks of the juridical blueprint fall on 27, 31, and 34 is CALCULATED from the anchors of chapter seven. That two thousand years may be added to them is INTERPRETED: it is a typological reading, not a text. No prophet names the two thousand years; the Hosea bridge of chapter eight carries them, and that is an interpretation with a long pedigree and no falsifier. Whoever brings this mirror forward as proof must know that he is bringing forward a reading.

With that mark on it: the Architect has been holding the physical execution of the seventieth week against the juridical accomplishment of the cross for two thousand years, and the calendar lays out the resumption on the same three seasons the original ran on.

The classical theological name for what the closing seven years embody is recapitulation. The man of sin who makes the false covenant strong by overwhelming power in 2027 is the deliberate counterfeit of the Anointed who confirmed the true covenant in 27. The figure who halts the resumed zevach u-minchah in 2031 is the deliberate counterfeit of the Goel who was cut off in 31. The judgement that closes on Hoshana Rabbah of 2034 is the deliberate counterfeit of the formal rejection that closed the appointment to Israel in 34 — except that the judgement of 2034 is delivered against the imitator, not against the people Israel, because the four-hundred-and-ninety-year window of choice closed in the autumn of 34 on the side of mercy, and the closing day of 2034 opens the side of execution.

That is the chiastic mirror. The same Hand that ran the juridical blueprint to the season runs the physical seventieth week to the season, two thousand years later, against an imitator who is permitted to occupy the geometry of the original act for the precise duration of the original act, and not one day more.

The first run brought the Lamb to the cross. The second run brings the Lamb to the throne — and brings the imitator to the winepress.

Why Tishri 1, 2027

A reader who is meeting this for the first time will want to slow the arithmetic down. Why specifically Tishri 1 — the first day of the seventh Hebrew month, the festival of Trumpets — for the resumption?

Two reasons converge.

First, the master clock closes at year 6000. Year 6000, by the chronology defended through the previous chapters of this book, falls in the autumn of 2034. Autumn because the Hebrew civil year begins in Tishri, and the master clock is reckoned in Hebrew civil years. The closing day of the dial, the latest possible day of the Goel's return, lands, as will become clear in a moment, on Hoshana Rabbah of 2034, which is the twenty-first of Tishri. Run a seven-year prophetic window backward from that closing day and the opening of the window falls in Tishri 2027; that it is Tishri 1, the second reason says. The arithmetic is straightforward.

Second, Tishri 1 is the festival of Trumpets — the first of the autumn cluster of chapter nine. The festival of Trumpets is the festival of the gathering. It is the day on which the silver shofars sound at the temple, the new moon of the seventh month is welcomed, the household is roused. If Our Father is going to open the seventieth week itself on a festival, He is going to open it on the festival whose meaning is the calling out of the gathered. The covenant of Daniel 9:27 — with overwhelming power he shall make a covenant strong for the many for one week (so the Hebrew higbir berit la-rabbim; see the section ahead) — opens, by the calendar of the Architect, on the very day His own festivals point to.

The seven-year window opens, by every line of the master clock, on the first of Tishri 2027. By the standard calendar, that is the second of October 2027.

The covenant made strong

Read Daniel 9:27 carefully:

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; but in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate. (Daniel 9:27)

The pronoun he refers, by every honest grammatical reading, to the prince who is to come in the previous verse — the figure later New Testament writers call the Antichrist. The English word confirm in this verse is a notoriously soft translation, inherited from the Authorised Version and carried into most modern English Bibles by inertia. The Hebrew is higbir — the hifil causative of gabar, the verbal root that gives us gibbor (mighty warrior) and geburah (might, dominance, the strength of the strongman). Higbir does not mean confirm in the modern English sense of agree to or ratify by mutual consent. It has two sides, and both belong to it. One is overwhelming power: the hifil occurs elsewhere only in Psalm 12:4, where the arrogant with smooth lips say, "with our tongue we will prevail [...] who is lord over us?", and the Old Greek Daniel renders dynasteusei hē diathēkē, "the covenant will dominate." The other is strengthening: the causative makes something strong, and he does it for the many; Theodotion renders dynamōsei, "he will strengthen," and with the same root God promises, "I will strengthen the house of Judah" (Zechariah 10:6, 12). Those who receive this covenant gain by it, or believe they do. The one who makes it strong gains the upper hand by it.

The picture is sharper than the English usually catches. The Coming Prince does not draft a new agreement and offer it to the world for consideration. He takes a covenant that is already on the table — already negotiated, already drafted, perhaps long under contention, perhaps already partially in force in a fragile or contested form — and he makes it strong. He gives it the political and military weight it could never have had without him, and the parties visibly gain by it. But the weight is his. Whoever makes the covenant strong becomes the strongman by it: a paper agreement turns into a regime that serves the many as long as it serves him. Daniel 11 draws that phase so: he comes "in a time of ease" and seizes the kingdom "by flatteries" (11:21), scatters spoil among his followers (11:24), and makes those who acknowledge him "rule over the many" (11:39). The violence comes only at the midpoint of the week (11:31). That the covenant is already on the table, the verb itself does not say: it reads "a covenant," without the article. It is the expectation that Daniel 11:23 feeds: first the league, then the deceit.

That is what the seventieth week opens with. Not a peace treaty in the Western liberal sense, and not a treaty imposed by the fist either. A covenant made strong for the many by overwhelming power — Hebrew higbir berit la-rabbim — benefaction for those who receive it, overwhelming power for the one who gives it.

The modern political identity of the prince is not pressed here. Our Father has reserved that knowledge to the moment, and speculation runs ahead of the text in every direction. What the text gives is the function. Whoever the prince turns out to be, he is the human instrument by which a particular covenant — concerning Israel and her neighbours — is made strong by overwhelming power at the opening of the seventieth week. The covenant runs for seven years. He shall make a covenant strong for the many [...] for one week. The seventieth week opens with that act; it closes when the seven years are up.

By the calendar of the master clock, that act lands on or about Tishri 1, 2027. The seven-year window opens. The forty-second-month midpoint falls on the spring of 2031 — the festival of Passover, the same season the original midpoint of the first half-week fell on at the cross. And the closing day of the seven years lies in the autumn of 2034.

The eclipse over Mecca two months earlier was not the trigger. The fact is CALCULATED: on August 2, 2027, Mecca lies 306 seconds in totality, about 50 km inside the edge of the shadow. The base frequency is also CALCULATED: from 1900 to 2050 Mecca lay twice in a total solar eclipse, on August 30, 1905 and on August 2, 2027; Jerusalem, Baghdad and Babylon not once in those 151 years. That the eclipse is the marker is the content, and that is INTERPRETED. Our Father places visible signs in the sky around the major hinges of the master clock — they appeared in the four blood moons of 2014–2015, in the Revelation 12 sign of September 2017, in the great conjunction of December 2020. The eclipse of August 2, 2027, falls two months before the projected reopening of the seventieth week, and its path runs across the geographical heart of the Arab world. Our Father has marked the page.

The mid-week breaking

The first half of the juridical blueprint — the earthly ministry of the Goel — ran from the autumn of 27 to the spring of 31 in the first century. The first half of the physical seventieth week — the deceptive peace of the Coming Prince — will run, by the chiastic mirror, from the autumn of 2027 to the spring of 2031 in the twenty-first.

What happens during those three and a half years lies outside the scope of this book. The Masterclock of Revelation walks through it in detail, where the seven seals, the trumpets, the woman of Revelation 12, and the gathering home of the wheat firstfruits unfold in their own architecture. For the present chapter it is enough to note the front edge — the covenant made strong by overwhelming power at Tishri 2027 — and the back edge — the physical midpoint at Passover 2031, where the imitator's three and a half years of full authority begin. The abomination itself — the setting up of it, the halting of the daily sacrifice and the imitator seating himself in the holy place (2 Thessalonians 2:4) — precedes that by about thirty days, at Purim 2031; more on that shortly.

Still, even within the scope of the master clock, it is worth laying the directed order of the window out on the timeline once, explicitly, so the reader sees how the hinges succeed one another. The sequence is telescopic-sequential — the seventh seal unfolds the trumpets, the seventh trumpet the bowls — and it runs like this. At Tishri 2027 the covenant is made strong for the many by overwhelming power and the week opens under a false peace. In the first half the early seals are broken — the four horsemen, the souls under the altar, the beginning of sorrows (Revelation 6:1–11; Matthew 24:8). Then, around 2028–2029, the sixth seal falls: the cosmic upheaval, the homecoming of the Bride, and the coming of the day of the wrath of the Lamb (Revelation 6:12–17); over the beast and his realm the wrath is poured out only from the seventh trumpet on. The hundred and forty-four thousand out of Israel are sealed and the innumerable multitude stands before the throne (Revelation 7). The seventh seal then opens the seven trumpets (from around 2029: the third towards the end of that year, the fifth in May 2030, the sixth at the Feast of Tabernacles of 2030), and with them the Day of the Lord breaks as a period of judgement, falling upon the world while the covenant remains nominally in force. At Purim 2031 the covenant is broken and the abomination set up, day zero of the 1290 and the 1335 days. Whoever is in Judea flees then (Matthew 24:16). Thirty days later, at Passover 2031, the count of the 1260 days in which the woman is nourished begins, and the reign of the beast breaks out in full. Through the second half the post-abomination tribulation of Matthew 24:21 runs over the Judean remnant and the two witnesses prophesy in Jerusalem; in Elul 2034 the seventh trumpet sounds, the bowls fall in the last forty-five days, and everything closes in the autumn of 2034: by Hoshana Rabbah at the latest the Goel has returned, and the six thousand years are complete.

One possible choice of days. The table above gives ranges, and deliberately so: Scripture does not date the seals and the trumpets to the day. In the accompanying field survey (September 2026) one choice of days was worked through: a logigram that places the links by the Jewish year, the season and the feast days, with the sky as a soft indication. On the conventional calendar, and with Rabbi Eliezer's reckoning of the Flood (b. Rosh Hashanah 11b), it yields the following chain. It is not date-setting but an example of how the puzzle can fit. The Noah pair and trumpets three to seven hold in every variant; seals two to four least of all. [CALCULATED]

In this chain the rapture falls seven days before the sixth seal, as the Noah pair: the call to enter the ark, and the Flood. On the true calendar the rapture, the sixth and the seventh seal fall later: November 27, December 4 and December 12, 2028. The half hour shifts with them; the other links stay the same.

In the logigram the seventh trumpet fell on Monday, October 23, 2034, the Day of Atonement on the true calendar (10 Tishri 5795). That is day 1324: it would leave eleven days for the bowls, which clashes with the placement in this book, where the seventh trumpet opens the bowls in Elul. The table therefore follows the book.

One feature of that order deserves emphasis, because it is easily misread: the wrath does not begin only in the second half, but already at the sixth seal, before the abomination. The great day of His wrath has come, the people cry at the sixth seal (Revelation 6:17) — and the Greek aorist ēlthen announces not a point on the timeline but an onset. For the Day of the Lord of the prophets — yom YHWH in Joel, Amos, Zephaniah, and Isaiah — is never a single twenty-four hours; it is an extended period of judgement, judgement on the godless world and at the same time the preservation of the remnant straight through that judgement. So the apparent tension resolves — that the wrath falls before the beast's peak. The wrath the sixth seal announces opens the Day-of-the-Lord period; within that period the trumpets fall upon the world, the beast rises, rages against the remnant through the second half, and is finally destroyed (Revelation 19). The beast is an object within the Day of the Lord, not a precondition of it; the wrath need not wait on the beast. The false peace of the covenant reaches only to the sixth seal — after that the wrath falls, even though the imitator keeps his covenant nominally in force until he himself breaks it at Purim 2031 with the abomination.

The phrase abomination of desolation is one Yeshua used twice in the Olivet Discourse. When you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place [...] then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. (Matthew 24:15–16). The phrase points back to Daniel 9:27 and forward, in Yeshua's own framing, to a single specific event in the closing seven-year window. The setting up of the abomination is the legal trigger around the midpoint of the seventieth week — the unmasking of the Coming Prince near the midpoint of his single, undivided seven-year covenant — and it detonates the closing three and a half years of great tribulation.

The physical midpoint falls at Passover 2031. The chiastic mirror requires it. The cross fell at Passover 31 AD, at the juridical midpoint of the seven-year blueprint; at Passover 2031 AD, at the physical midpoint of the seventieth week, the imitator — the man of sin, unmasked — who thirty days earlier, on Purim, seated himself in the holy place (2 Thessalonians 2:4), comes into his full authority; his three and a half years begin. Two Passovers, two thousand years apart, both situated at the midpoint of their respective seven-year structures, read in two registers: in the juridical register, the Goel is cut off before the holy place; in the physical register, the imitator seizes full authority from the holy place. Our Father runs His own midpoints on the same festival both times.

That midpoint is preceded by one act about thirty days earlier. At Purim 2031 — the festival of Esther's thwarted genocide — the abomination of desolation is set up and the daily sacrifice, zevach u-minchah, is taken away (Daniel 12:11). That is the trigger: the anchor, day zero, from which the two closing counts of Daniel twelve run. Thirty days later, at Passover 2031, the full beast-authority detonates and the nourishing of the woman in the wilderness begins: the twelve hundred sixty days. The forty-two months of the beast are the wider measure; by then they have already begun, somewhere between Purim and Passover. The abomination warns; the beast-authority breaks loose; and in that window of thirty days, between Purim and Passover, the Judean remnant flees to the mountains (Matthew 24:15–16).

What the abomination physically consists of, what political figure imposes it, what religious form it takes — all of that is the territory of the closing chapters of The Masterclock of Revelation, and that territory is not repeated here. For the master clock, what matters is the timing. The midpoint of the seventieth week falls in the spring of 2031. From the midpoint, the closing three and a half years run.

But the closing three and a half years are not an even, undifferentiated stretch. Our Father has placed inside them a specific count that the prophet Daniel was given at the very end of his book.

Twelve hundred ninety, thirteen hundred thirty-five

The numbers came up briefly in chapter ten:

And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. (Daniel 12:11–12)

Two numbers. Both counted from the moment the abomination is set up. The first number is 1290 days. The second number is 1335 days. The difference between the two is forty-five days — 1335 − 1290 = 45 — and that number must be held on to, because it is precisely the number the devout literature likes to trip over.

Take Purim 2031 — the day the abomination is set up and the sacrifice is taken away — as day zero. Count forward 1290 days. Count forward 1335 days. Where do those two land?

Before this book gives that answer, it must put right one thing that is constantly garbled in the literature. Hoshana Rabbah and Shemini Atzeret are not the same day. Hoshana Rabbah is the seventh and last day of the festival of Tabernacles, the twenty-first of Tishri — the day of the sevenfold circuit around the altar and of the willow branches. Shemini Atzeret is the separate eighth-day assembly of Leviticus 23:36, the twenty-second of Tishri, a festival of its own with an offering of its own. One day between them. This book places the closing tick on 21 Tishri — Hoshana Rabbah, and not on 22 Tishri, and will nowhere again treat those two as one day.

With that put right: on the calendar this book counts by — the clock calendar, the fixed rules of reckoning applied to the true year-count, as a prediction of what an observational calendar of the sighted crescent and the aviv will yield — day 1290 lands at the start of Elul 2034, and day 1335 lands on 21 Tishri 2034, Hoshana Rabbah. Two dates, forty-five days apart, both anchored to the abomination of Purim 2031.

Here this book must state its own presupposition out loud, for it is testable and it deserves no small print. On the rabbinic conventional calendar — the cycle in force since Hillel II, in the fourth century, and the calendar with which every modern recalculator reckons — these counts land differently: Purim 2031 falls there on March 9, the twelve hundred and ninetieth day after it on September 19, 2034, which is 6 Tishri, and the thirteen hundred and thirty-fifth on November 3, which is 21 Cheshvan — thirty days past Hoshana Rabbah, which on that calendar falls on October 4. The difference is exactly one lunar month, and it names precisely what this model presupposes: that the true calendar — which must approximate the observational calendar of the Second Temple — inserts, on balance, one month more in this window than the conventional calendar: it intercalates in the spring of 2031 and of 2034, the conventional calendar only in that of 2033. That presupposition is testable, and it weighs two years by the same measure. In the spring of 2031 the inserted month carries the true Passover into early May, a month after the rabbinic one; in the spring of 2034 again, from a Passover that the conventional calendar puts on April 4. Both times that is late, but not impossible; whoever calls the one year unthinkable must call the other so too. For the count itself 2031 changes nothing, on one condition: the abomination falls on Purim as the people celebrate that feast, whatever the observers decide that spring. That is a second presupposition: the count begins on the celebrated, rabbinic calendar and ends on the true one. Counted consistently on one calendar, it is 1305 days (rabbinic, from March 9, 2031 to October 4, 2034) or 1307 (the clock, from Purim on April 6, 2031 to November 3, 2034); only the two calendars together give 1335. The count hangs on 2031 and 2034 together, against 2033.

Then follows the finding that gives this chapter its sharpest arithmetical moment — and, immediately behind it, the three caveats that bound it, because a finding without caveats is a sales pitch.

The finding. Shift the nineteen-year Metonic cycle from its rabbinic epoch to the creation epoch of this dial — the year the conventional calendar calls 5794 is, on the master clock, 5999 — and then apply the standard leap positions. Two things fall at once. First: the cycle intercalates precisely that spring of 2034, and that is exactly the extra Adar II this count needs. Second: the year 5996 also becomes a leap year, so that the month the rabbinic calendar calls Adar in 2031 is, on the true count, the first Adar. Count thirteen hundred and thirty-five days from the Purim celebrated that spring — 9 March 2031 — and the arithmetic lands on 3 November 2034: the twenty-first of Tishri of the year 6000, Hoshana Rabbah on the true count. The abomination strikes the feast as the people celebrate it; the count closes on the feast as the Father keeps it.

That is a fine result. Now the three caveats.

Caveat one: the base rate. A nineteen-year cycle contains seven leap years. The chance that an arbitrarily chosen year in an arbitrarily shifted cycle is a leap year is therefore roughly seven in nineteen — about thirty-seven per cent. But the chance that two particular years at a fixed distance from one another — 5996 and 5999, three positions apart — are both leap years is not a matter of independent draws: within a single cycle the positions are fixed, and the right question is how many of the nineteen possible epoch settings give this pattern. The answer is five out of nineteen — roughly one in four. That is not an astronomically small chance; that is the chance of throwing heads twice with a coin that leans toward heads. To that comes a second lever: the assignment of the two endpoints to the two calendars — the beginning on the celebrated, the end on the true — is one reading in four. Together that is roughly 1 in 15 (5/19 × 1/4, CALCULATED). Whoever presents this finding as proof without setting that base rate beside it is misleading — himself, if need be. Shifting the epoch by a few years gives, on average, other hits with comparable frequency. Appendix D keeps the broader weighing; here the warning suffices.

Caveat two: corroboration from the inside is not corroboration. The epoch reckoned with here is the epoch of this book. The creation-anchored year count is not externally attested; it follows from the chronology chapters three through seven have built up. When that epoch then yields a leap year the model needs, the model has confirmed itself — and that is not confirmation, that is a circle with a large diameter. The finding is CALCULATED, not DOCUMENTED. It would acquire weight only if an independent source fixed the epoch.

Caveat three: the dechiyot give ±1 day. The conventional calendar has four postponement rules — the dechiyot — which can shift the first of Tishri by one or two days relative to the molad. An observational calendar knows no such rules; it knows the visible crescent, and the crescent is subject to weather, horizon, and the eye of the witness. The landing on 3 November 2034 is therefore not certain to the day, and this book will no longer claim that it is: it carries an unavoidable margin of at least one day, on either side. Whoever nails a prophecy to a single twenty-four hours with an instrument that has a day of play in it has confused the precision of the instrument with the precision of the outcome.

What is left, then? This. The presupposition is clear, it is stated, and it is testable. Whoever recalculates the counts on the conventional calendar finds not an arithmetical error but the presupposition itself. And the presupposition is verified or falsified by one observable fact that no one can argue away: the barley of Adar 2034. And one refinement belongs with it, so that the assumption does not look larger than it is: that a leap month falls in the window between Purim 2031 and the autumn of 2034 is not an assumption but a lunisolar necessity — the cadence allows at most three years between two intercalations. The conventional calendar puts that month in the spring of 2033; this dial, on its own cadence — 5999 is position fourteen — in the spring of 2034. The assumption therefore concerns not whether there is an intercalation, but where, and that the true calendar intercalates twice in this window, in 2031 and 2034, against once on the conventional calendar, in 2033. And within the model that is no free choice either: the clock requires it, the barley executes it — and precisely for that reason the barley can falsify it. If the aviv barley stands ripe enough in the spring of 2034 to declare the year ordinary, this count falls. If it does not, the month is inserted and the count holds. The model hangs on a stalk.

Each is taken up in turn.

Day 1290 — Elul 2034

The text of Daniel 12:11 gives the first marker without commentary. Twelve hundred ninety days from the abomination and the taking away of the daily sacrifice — language that, in the apocalyptic register of Daniel, often signifies the cessation of an established order. What ends on day 1290?

The book of Revelation gives the answer at chapter twelve. The woman flees into the wilderness as soon as the abomination stands; from Passover 2031, 30 days later, when the full beast-authority arrives, she is nourished and given supernatural protection for a time and times and half a time — three and a half years, twelve hundred and sixty days. From Passover 2031 to Elul 2034 the woman in the wilderness — the Jewish remnant who fled when the abomination went up — is fed and protected by the hand of Our Father in the rocky wilderness east of the Jordan, in the region the Hebrew prophets call Bozrah.

At the end of those twelve hundred sixty days, in Elul 2034, the supernatural shield expires. The woman is no longer hidden from the dragon. Her protection has run its course, and the forty-two months of the beast are running out as well.

Daniel's day 1290 and Revelation's day 1260 end on the same day — in Elul 2034. Yet the numbers differ by thirty. Why?

Because the two counts do not begin on the same day. The twelve hundred sixty days — of the full beast-authority and of the woman's protection; the forty-two months of the beast are the wider measure and began earlier — run from Passover 2031, the day that authority arrives. Daniel's twelve hundred ninety days run thirty days earlier, from the abomination at Purim 2031. Thirty days apart at the start, they converge at the end: both close in Elul 2034. The difference of thirty days is not an extension at the close, but precisely the window between Purim and Passover — the window in which the Judean remnant, warned by the abomination, flees to the mountains.

On day 1290 — somewhere in the early Hebrew month of Elul, the late summer of 2034 — the protection over the woman in the wilderness lifts. The squatter's last armies, who have been gathering toward Megiddo, pivot south to wipe out the orthodox Jewish remnant in the rocks. The remnant has been in Bozrah for three and a half years, fed and protected. For the first time since the abomination went up, the squatter has access to them.

What happens next is not, in the master clock's account, a story of doom. It is the story of a Father who has been waiting two thousand years for the moment His covenant people would call on the Name they had refused to use.

The days of teshuvah — and a seam this book does not smooth over

From day 1290 to day 1335 runs forty-five days. Inside those forty-five days is one of the most extraordinary intervals in the closing weeks of human history. The protection has lifted. The squatter's armies are converging on the wilderness. The remnant is exposed.

And the remnant does what every observant Jew of every century has been taught to do when their backs are against the wall.

They cry out.

The period in which they do it has a name. In the rabbinic tradition the forty days of teshuvah — returning to Yahweh through repentance, fasting, prayer, and confession — are the days from 1 Elul through to Yom Kippur, the tenth of Tishri. They imitate Moses' second forty days on Sinai, the days during which he interceded for Israel after the golden calf. Every observant Jewish household has run those forty days every year for two thousand years. They end on the Day of Atonement, when the High Priest historically entered the Holy of Holies with the blood of the goat for the sins of the nation.

Here this book must correct an error of its own earlier editions, and it is an arithmetical one.

One reads — including in earlier versions of this chapter — that the forty days of teshuvah begin on day 1290 and end on day 1335, and that day 1335 is therefore Yom Kippur. Do the arithmetic and it does not work. 1290 + 40 = 1330, and 1330 is not 1335. The difference between Daniel's two numbers is not forty but forty-five. The forty days of teshuvah therefore do not fill up Daniel's closing window; five are left over, and those five have never been explained.

This book is not going to massage those five days away. It resolves the matter differently — and more honestly.

The forty days of teshuvah do not begin on day 1290 at all. They begin on 1 Elul. And 1 Elul falls, on the count of this chapter, on day 1285 — five days before Daniel's first marker. When day 1290 breaks, the remnant is therefore already five days into teshuvah; the protection falls away while the penitential season is already running. That is no less awe-inspiring than the old reading. It is only true.

And then the arithmetic closes as well. Yom Kippur — the fortieth day of teshuvah, the tenth of Tishri — is not day 1335 but day 1324. Eleven days later, on the twenty-first of Tishri, falls Hoshana Rabbah: day 1335. Daniel's second number therefore does not point at the Day of Atonement. It points eleven days past the Day of Atonement, at the great Hosanna — and that is exactly what the text says, for Daniel does not say blessed is he who comes to Yom Kippur, but blessed is he who comes to the thirteen hundred and thirty-five days.

The seam was in the exposition, not in the text. A book that shows its own seams is stronger than a book that hides them.

In the wilderness of Bozrah, in the autumn of 2034, the orthodox remnant runs the same forty days under conditions Moses would have recognised. They are surrounded by an army. They are marked for destruction. They have been told for two thousand years that the Galilean carpenter who claimed to be their Messiah was an impostor. They are calling on Yahweh by every Name He has given them — Adonai, El Shaddai, Ha-Shem — and the supernatural shield is gone and the armies are closing.

And the prophet Zechariah, five and a half centuries before the cross, had told them what would break first.

And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. (Zechariah 12:10)

The Spirit of grace falls on the remnant during those forty days. The recognition begins. The Galilean they had been taught to dismiss is, on the rocks of Bozrah, recognised by His own covenant people for the first time as the Messiah they had pierced. The mourning of Zechariah 12 — the mourning of a household that has just realised it killed its own firstborn son — opens in the wilderness on the days the squatter's armies are bearing down.

And on the fortieth day of teshuvah — Yom Kippur itself, day 1324 of the Daniel count — the cry breaks through.

Day 1335 — Hoshana Rabbah

Eleven days separate that breakthrough from the closing tick.

For the Day of Atonement is not the end of the autumn cluster. Five days after Yom Kippur the festival of Tabernacles opens — the fifteenth of Tishri, day 1329. Seven days later, on the twenty-first of Tishri, falls the seventh and last day of that festival: Hoshana Rabbah. That is day 1335. And the next day, the twenty-second — Shemini Atzeret — is day 1336, and therefore not the day Daniel points to. The closing tick of the master clock falls on the great Hosanna, and on no other day.

Hoshana Rabbah — the great Hosanna — is the day the Hebrew tradition has long held to be the yom hachatima, the day on which the heavenly court issues its final verdict on the supplicants of the high holy days. The forty days of teshuvah close. Yom Kippur has come and gone. Tabernacles has been kept for seven days. On the seventh day of Tabernacles — Hoshana Rabbah — the worshippers march around the altar seven times, beating willow branches against the ground, crying Hoshia na, hoshia na — save now, save now. The cry of the great Hosanna is the same cry the children of Jerusalem shouted when Yeshua entered the city on a donkey two thousand years earlier.

In the run-up to Hoshana Rabbah of 2034, day 1335 of the Daniel count, the Goel returns; on that day itself at the latest.

The day table

Here is the count in full, so that the reader can count it out rather than having to believe it. Day zero is Purim 2031 — the day the abomination is set up. The first two rows stand on the calendar as the people celebrate it — the abomination strikes the feast as it is celebrated —; from Elul 2034 onward everything stands on the true count. That mixing of two calendars is a presupposition, not an outcome: counted on one calendar, it is 1305 or 1307 days.

Four checks, and the fourth is the weak spot.

One. 1335 − 1290 = 45. Not forty. Earlier editions of this book wrote that the forty days of teshuvah begin on day 1290 and close on day 1335; that is 1330, and it does not work. The forty days begin on Rosh Chodesh Elul — day 1285, the first of the two new-moon days (30 Av; 1 Elul is day 1286) — and close on the Day of Atonement, day 1324. Daniel's second number points eleven days past the Day of Atonement, at the great Hosanna. That correction stands here, and not in a footnote.

Two. 1290 counted from Purim and 1260 counted from Passover end on the same day — 19 September 2034. The two counts of Daniel and Revelation close on each other. That is CALCULATED, and it works to the day.

Three. 3 November 2034 is a Friday. Earlier editions named a Tuesday here; that was wrong and has been struck. The day after, Saturday 4 November (day 1336), is both sabbath and Shemini Atzeret: on the clock calendar the sabbath on which the kingdom begins and the eighth day of the Feast of Tabernacles fall on one day in 2034. The sabbath opens the kingdom; the eighth day points further, as a type, to the new creation after the kingdom.

Four — and here is the seam. The whole right-hand column hangs, alongside the insertion of 2031, on a second Adar in the spring of 2034 on the observational calendar. That month is CALCULATED from the epoch of this book itself, not externally corroborated. It is not arbitrary — the standard leap positions of the cycle, applied to the true reckoning of years, yield it, and the conventional calendar, which intercalates in 2033, leaves room for it in 2034 — but it has not been observed. The model hangs here on a stalk of barley. If the barley of Adar 2034 comes out otherwise, this column shifts by a lunar month, and Hoshana Rabbah shifts with it. That is the falsifier, and it is the only one this chapter has.

The Mount of Olives splits, as Zechariah 14 specified five and a half centuries before the cross. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley; half of the mountain shall move toward the north, and half of it toward the south. (Zechariah 14:4) The Eastern Gate — shut for centuries by the time Suleiman's masons completed it in stone in the sixteenth century, possibly in 1541 — is split open by the geological event of His arrival. That its facade is from Suleiman's wall campaign is DOCUMENTED; the year is not, and why it happened is tradition (see chapter ten). The wall is there; the motive is a story. And the argument does not need the motive — it needs only the wall.

The Goel arrives. The squatter's armies, who had been bearing down on Bozrah, are dispatched in the closing days of the count, on day 1335 at the latest — the winepress alone of Isaiah 63. The remnant in the wilderness is collected. The Bride, who was caught up early in the seven-year window at the sixth seal (around 2028–2029) and has been with the Bridegroom in Our Father's house, returns with Him for the wedding feast on the renewed earth.

Day 1335 is the closing tick of the master clock. The dial has run for six thousand years, by appointment, and lands.

The seventh millennium — the Sabbath of the master clock, the millennial reign Isaiah pictured and Zechariah described and John saw in the closing chapters of Revelation — opens on the Sabbath after Hoshana Rabbah 2034, Shemini Atzeret, November 4.

The arithmetic of the closing year

Stand back from the seven-year window and watch its shape.

The window opens at Tishri 2027 — the festival of Trumpets, the autumn of the master clock turning into its closing year. The window closes at Hoshana Rabbah 2034 — the great Hosanna, the day the Bride has been waiting two thousand years to shout. Inside the window:

The Architect is doing what the Architect of Exodus 34 has done from Adam onward. He is keeping appointments. He is running clocks. He is converging timelines. He is closing in the season — and on the feast — He told us, four thousand years ago, He would close on.

A household standing on the page

Let me close this chapter where I want to close every chapter — with what the closing seven years mean for the reader on the page.

A household reading this paragraph in the year of its publication is a household standing on the threshold of the seven-year window of the master clock. The opening of the window — Tishri 2027 — is, at the time of writing, only months ahead. The covenant of Daniel 9:27 has not yet been made strong at the moment these words leave the writer's hand, but every prophetic clock Our Father has been running since Adam points to its imminence. The eclipse over Mecca is on the calendar. The autumn of the master clock has already begun.

That is sobering. Our Father reserves the day and the hour, and the dates are not pressed with a confidence the text does not give. It is possible the typology will require small corrections in detail. It is possible Our Father will hold the window open longer, by the same patience that delayed the Flood through the long life of Methuselah. It is possible the year named here will pass without the predicted event, and the reader who is looking at the printed page in 2030 will find that the model required adjustment.

It is also possible, and the weight of the arithmetic leans that way, that the model will land on the year and on the feast — the day itself hangs on a leap month no one has observed. Our Father has kept every previous appointment. The clocks of 1917, 1948, 1967, 2018 have already landed in front of every honest reader's eyes. The fig tree generation has reached the seventy-year marker. The lights of the autumn are up. The chiastic mirror across two thousand years is exact. The eclipse over Mecca falls in the year the resumption is expected. The arithmetic of 1290 + 45 = 1335 lands on Hoshana Rabbah of the year the dial closes. Every line of evidence converges on the same closing decade.

The household standing on the page in this generation is, by the most careful reckoning of every previous chapter of this book, the household standing on the page when the appointments are kept.

What does that change?

It changes the way you read the year. It changes the way you treat the small obediences. It changes the way you pray in the morning. It changes what you think the news is for. It changes what you tell your children when they ask why you live the way you do. It changes the urgency with which you speak to neighbours who have not yet heard the gospel. It changes the patience with which you carry your own dim seasons, knowing that the long afternoon of the master clock is about to give way to the autumn cluster.

The Bridegroom is on the road. Our Father has signalled, by the calendar of the master clock, that the room is nearly finished. The Bride has been weaving her dress for two millennia. The cry of the great Hosanna falls, by the arithmetic of Daniel 12, on the twenty-first of Tishri of the year 6000 — on the civil calendar, 3 November 2034.

The chapter ahead steps onto the closing day itself. The seven-year window has been walked through from outside. The chapter that follows takes the reader to the ridge of the Mount of Olives, on a morning in the closing days of 2034, and watches the Goel come home.
